Visual art adds a dimension to music. Music adds a dimension to visual art. We look at the stories to tell, feelings to impart and ways to make the viewer’s life better, from both directions.

At times, the song is the main message and visuals support what you mostly are listening to. Other times, the depictions and moving images help set the impression and music needs to support what is seen.

After, all there are visual learners and audible learners who often orient to their inclination and yet find the other sense enhances the whole. And then again, there are musical learners who practically have an inner orchestra waiting for parts to be played. For you kinesthetic folks, we are working towards tactile interactive and immersive experiences, so hang in here.

In the stressful hustle and bustle of the holidays, a special "Prelude to Christmas" concert will quiet your heart & mind, setting a tone for a meaningful and memorable Christmas. Prelude to Christmas features the sounds of harp, string quartet, harpsichord, angelic professional choir and Cathedral organ that will lift your spirit with classical favorites around winter themes. At the Golden Dome Cathedral at 11th and Broadway Kansas City, on Thursday December 1 at 6:30, with proceeds going to feed the homeless, a donation of 10 or 20 dollars for reserve seating. The entire community… all walks of life… are welcome to the Golden Dome Cathedral in downtown by the convention center.  The “Prelude to Christmas” will surround you in an elevated musical experience... smell the scent of evergreen from garlands, mixed with the aroma of bayberry from the candlelight’s golden glimmer, as a gentle harp greets you at the entry…   Then the string quartet moves you into solace…  the cathedral organ and vibrant voices of a professional choir will engulf you in an evening of calming music with a winter theme. This  experience, hosts a select set of Kansas City‘s finest classical musicians and will be recorded for attendees to have by stream or download.

Kansas City, where I live now, is celebrating Charlie Parker month. Of course, he's the innovator of bebop scales and blistering solos. The American Jazz museum is here, in part due to his contribution. (Count Basie and many others too.) Jazz was born in New Orleans, but they say here, it grew up in KC. To me, we need a Pat Metheny month. He is from the KC, MO area. I put lyrics to one of his songs and got to sing it live recently.
